Phyllis is 52 and from the northern suburbs of Sydney. Phyllis doesn’t work but her husband, Bert, is the chair of a bank (amongst other things) and has a town residence. Phyllis apparently doesn’t go to the toilet, instead just pissing and shitting where she pleases. She often says ‘fiddlesticks!’ (see Episode 83).
Phyllis calls again in Episode 99.7 having temporarily forgotten her own name, saying that knowing her name is someone else's responsibility. It is early 2021 and Phyllis is going to the tennis, calling into the Grub to sort out the parking with her ‘Merc’. Last time Phyllis was down to the tennis she hit a ball boy with her car which she says she is 'paying for'.
Phyllis seems oblivious to the fact that the Grub podcast is not in the best position to answer questions about the Australian Open.
Phyllis next appears in Episode 104. She claims she was due to fly by private jet to Goa, India via New Zealand to see her guru and her friend Janine from her boarding school days. At this point she had already been vaccinated, somehow using her influence to obtain an early British dose of the vaccine. Unfortunately, she was blocked from entering India due to the second wave of Covid-19 there, even after she offered to pay the $66,000 fine in the form of a cheque.
Phyllis' driver is named Duncan.
