Ronald D. Gunch works in IT and owns several katanas (swords) and Viking axes. He also likes to wear a trench coat indoors because he can 'put blades inside'. Ronald first appears in Episode 9 where he decides to use vulgar homophobic words in their 'technical' usages seemingly in order to be provocative. In that same episode he also disputes the gender pay gap, citing Dr. Jordan Peterson who he is a big fan of.
In Episode 15 Ronald dreams he is Pure Logic Man, who can kill people and destroy things with pure logic. When woken from the dream he is told he must clean up faeces in the server room.
In Episode 21 Ronald makes an appearance in the Broken Photocopier Sketch where he has a run-in with (and also makes out with) HR Manager Phillipe de Shaun.
Ronald joins the Grub's special 'men's edition' episode (Episode 27) to discuss 'gentleman's fashion'. He catalogues what he is wearing that day: a trilby, a Samurai Champloo shirt tucked into camouflage cargo pants (complete with zips on the knees that can transform them to shorts), steampunk goggles ('they never go out of style'), steel capped army boots and fingerless leather gloves. He also carries an extendable baton.
In the same episode (Episode 27) Ronald also voices his preference for modesty in women's clothing, while making exceptions for anime characters.
When the Grub caught up Ronald after the 2020 Melbourne lockdown (see Episode 88) Ronald had put on a little weight after ‘eating a lot of meat and cheese’ to achieve ketosis. In that same episode we heard about Ronald's character of the Giggler from the graphic novel he has been working on. We also heard that Ronald had been playing a lot of the video game 'Among Us' and that one of his best friends is NightInvaderXX.
Ronald apparently had a job at GrubMart (in the AV department) in early 2021, although he apparently has a problem speaking down to customers (see Episode 99). In that same episode Ronald and a pregnant Roxy agree that although the sex is good they need to break up. They are still on good terms however as Roxy gives him a lift home from work and they get some takeaway KFC.
